The best areas to live in London
42
St. James
Westminster
named after a 12th century leper hospital that was built over
by st. James Palace (which still houses members of the
royal family), this area is considered by many to be “the
place to live”. the streets are lined with beautiful mansions
that are passed down from generation to generation. Many
of the people here do tend to keep to themselves, but there
is still a sense of community.
Westminster is the centre of london. highly touristy and
filled with hotels. Most people tend not to think of this as a
place to live, but rather a place to visit. nonetheless, this one
square kilometre neighbourhood has a full-time population
of over 200,000 which balloons with tourists during
summer.surprisingly, however, living here isn’t nearly as
expensive as in some other parts of london.
St. John’s Wood & Primrose Hil
Hampstead
situated in the northwest corner of london, st. John’s
Wood and Primrose hill exude elegance and charm, making
them highly desirable areas to own property. st. John’s
Wood offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of
the city. The nearby Primrose hill provides breath-taking
panoramic views of london.
nestled within the leafy expanse of hampstead heath, the
neighbourhood of hampstead stands as a true oasis of
sophistication and natural beauty in london. hampstead is
a magnet for artists, intellectuals and celebrities.its diverse
architecture ranges from georgian townhouses to luxurious
contemporary residences.
