live in a property outweighs the size of the property itself. Broadly, lifestyle improvements have been associated with enhanced access to the outdoors with buyers looking for properties with garden/yard space and
waterfront locations. Regional di昀昀erences in the data suggest that buyers looking for these lifestyle
improvements in Europe are able to do so without sacri昀椀cing space. In addition to outdoor space, an
appetite for 昀氀exible living has also been a global trend, likely driving the global interest in new construction
properties. While work, tax and investment motivations will always be important factors in the migration
and purchase of luxury properties for HNW individuals, we observed that the lifestyle driven purchases of
primary residence has seen the largest increase among those interested in luxury real estate markets.
In a world of growing risks and deepening divisions, ultimately seeking to live well now is driving our
home-buying decisions.
