On-Water Play
At 32,000 acres, Lake Norman is Charlotte’s
signature playground: marinas, yacht clubs,
sailing schools, regattas, fishing tournaments,
lakeside greenways, and a dining scene built
around sunset decks. Towns like Cornelius,
Davidson, Huntersville, and Mooresville frame
the shoreline with neighborhoods that range from
deep-water estates to amenity-rich communities
just a few minutes off the water.
Rent or launch from Blythe Landing
(Huntersville), Ramsey Creek Park (Cornelius,
with seasonal swim beach), Jetton Park
(Cornelius, trails and picnic areas), and Lake
Norman State Park (Troutman—beach, boat
rentals, MTB loop). Lessons and charters span
wake sports, sailing, and cruising; look for race
nights via Lake Norman Yacht Club and
community paddles through local outfitters.
