Weekend Radius
From Charlotte, weekend escapes are easy: marquee mountain
towns are about 2–3.5 hours west; Carolina beaches are roughly
3.5–4 hours; the Crystal Coast is~5 hours; and the Outer Banks
run 6–7 hours. Having mountains and coast within a half-day’s
drive is a major lifestyle perk of calling Greater Charlotte home.
Boone & Blowing Rock

Grandfather Mountain adds the iconic Mile-High Swinging Bridge

centered on the River Arts District. An effortless base camp for
hiking, food, and art—about 2–2.5 hours west of Charlotte.
